Great Wall Motors delays building of Russian plant to 2018
BRYANSK, Nov 2 (PRIME) – Completion of construction of the first stage of China’s U.S. $500 million Great Wall Motors car plant in the central Russian Tula Region has been delayed to 2018 from 2017, the regional government said in a statement late on Tuesday.
“Construction of the administrative and business estate (residential area) has been launched. Construction of the plant is to be finished in 2018,” the government said without disclosing any reason for the delay.
The agreement for production of Great Wall Motors’ Haval cars was signed with the region’s government and the Tula Region Development Corporation in 2014.
